SHE STEALS MY HORSE! // Versatile Horsemanship

hello and welcome to another video if
you’re new here my name is brandi and today Dani is gonna steal my horse now
if you know me my personal horse is I usually don’t let anybody ride him but
today Dani is gonna get a little lesson on my horse
today is January 4th and I’m so excited because it is our Christmas party in the
barn today so my whole barn family is here and even some of my girls are home
from college so that’s super exciting so let’s head into the arena let’s see can
anybody recognize this horse right here what works is that oh and what horse is
that and who is riding that horse hmm and what horse is that one and who might
be riding that horse gunshots so this right here is Carly
she owns Diego she’s home from school and Carly used to own muffin years ago
I’ve owned muffin now since 2008 or 2009 and after I got muffin Carly got Dee you
go like keeled over good Cantor good okay now think slow down don’t pull on
her yep no try turn around this is the one opportunity to get to ride too much
you get to ride my Barbies take advantage of it okay turn and look over
your left shoulder good now your left leg will be open your
right leg is gonna go on it on and kind of like a bumping motion okay and tip
for nose that way and go your hand comes out right your hip
don’t let her walk forward your right rein if she tries to walk forward that’s
what you’re right rain is for no take a hold of her good more like more like
bender she’s gotta be bent shorten up that rein if you need to good job
okay stop good better good now back her up a step and then you’re
gonna tip her nose to her right and you’re gonna look over your right
shoulder your hands gonna come right out from your hip I think it was there a
good job look look look you look show look I think it was Kim’s forces is her
name on YouTube she was wanting to know how to do this so good better so that’s
how I do it first step is to be able to get your horse to look to the side
second step is to just feel to pick up the foot so Dani see if you can just tip
her nose and just get one step to your left like that exactly that is a very
first step to the turnaround now back her up a couple steps rock your weight
back when you back good now she’s prepared to pick up she’s gonna pick up
her right front foot next so turn and look shift the weight back she has a
laid-back and look and bring that foot over there you
go good so that’s how it is you just have to make sure that they’ve got a
little bend in them they’re looking the direction you want to go and you pick up
that foot and drop it so Ken’s horses there’s your answer and it’s just you
add a little bit at a time each day add a little tiny bit more and stop where
it’s really good don’t drill this I can’t tell you the last time somebody
rode my horse so now Katie’s on the Kona and Danny’s
getting on there oh this is something else that people want to know too is how
to get your horse to step over to you on the mounting block
so right there Danny’s kind of at a disadvantage because bear is like no I’m
gonna keep my butt over here and if we had a flag or something that works out
good but she’s in a position now where she has to just wait it out and as soon
as he steps his bum over just a tiniest little bit even if he tries she’s gonna
give him a release but pony’s a lot of times we’re just kind of pulled around
by kids so they’ll just sit and tolerate it instead of moving over so she’s just
gonna wait so don’t get harder Danny think of like push his head away from
you a little bit so it’s easier for him to step his hip over just make it so
it’s just kind of so he thinks about trying to find a different answer so I’m
gonna help Danny a little bit now just because we’re having some problems I’m
gonna give her just a little stick just spill mighty everywhere so we’re
just gonna use this to give them a little tickle I typically don’t hold on
to so here’s something right here is I typically don’t hold on to the slobber
so much as I’ll hold on like up here so kind of let that go so it’s not so much
cuz see how it gets a bit flipped up I don’t want I don’t want it to be that
bad right there so hold it like that okay and now since he’s comfortable
would just hang in there honor which is what we don’t want she’s just gonna give
him a teeny tiny tickle on his right hip good release all pressure goes away when
he steps over they do it again little teeny tiny tickle oh good release see
that time she didn’t even need to touch him now do it again we’re gonna make
sure that he does it perfect push your hand a little bit towards him a little
bit that way I’ll help him get his hip over
to the left don’t even touch him there good that was much much better so next
time come in with a little less pressure when you start out and that’ll help the
Kitty’s gonna get there – I know right it’s so hard not to she’s so much fun
here so now before Danny gets on she’s gonna stand up at the top and he’ll
probably step away again and she’ll work at that
so go ahead up to the top Dan good and now pet him but a lot of times they’ll
just step away and and make sure he stands after you get on to kitty now a
lot of people are gonna say oh that girl’s way too big for that pony so yeah
and in same here too I’m not gonna put these girls on these ponies and send
them down a 10-mile trail ride I’m not gonna do that but Danny looks ridiculous
on him cuz her legs are so long but she is in a weight range that he can easily
carry I can ride this Pony I don’t spend more than
15 minutes on him but I can ride him and that’s important because if we only put
little tiny riders on these ponies and they never got any good quality training
what would that say about the ponies the ponies would only have as good of
training as little kids could offer so in these ponies or not you can tell
that ponies had fun he’s not upset about her being on at all
same with bear he doesn’t look very bothered so this is important horse is
typically carry about 20% of their weight 20-25 percent of their weight is
a good amount for a rider intact but with ponies I mean you’re looking at
like 40 percent because they are so much sturdier and they are able to carry
weight a lot better the ability of the rider makes a big difference a horse has
a much easier time carrying a balanced Rider
but it’s nice because Danny’s gonna give beer a really good little training
session she’s not doing anything hard she’s gonna be doing a lot of like leg
yielding that kind of stuff important things that maybe a little rider can’t
do so great ponies always get a bad name but really
it’s just because of the people that train them he’s so cute
good pretty sure I’m raising a couple of
monkeys yeah Stella come here come here sell me your
girl hero if you enjoyed this video please be

That is so how I wanted my childhood. Around horses and animals on land and in a barn. So awesome!!!! The dog went to the rafters like a boss. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Thank you for showing how you pivot and get the horse to the mounting block ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘ without pushing your horse with your hands and body. Going to share this with a couple of friends so they can see it does work. Again thank you ๐Ÿ’—

Manzer is getting big and he is so clever he was going to follow his mum but then thought no I have got to go to my big boy stall he is cut and I suppose a hay mountain is a good way to keep your dog fit

Your lesson is very relax, very good for horses and riders ๐Ÿ‘ Diego has an awesome color. The kitty is so funny playing with the stick. He looks like a Norwegian forest cat with all his fur, is he ? Now I understand why once (a long time ago) I was thrown by a big poney, always mounted by children with no problem, a sweet patient calm horse. But as soon as I (a light weight adult) got on his back, he bucked, it was hilarious for others, I felt so ridiculous๐Ÿ˜€ what a lovely footage to see Manzer and his mom entering their barn in the sunlight as a background. He got a playmate almost his size outside.

Manzer's getting to be a big boy. Less foal. He didn't follow his mom into the stall but went into his own stall. When Manzer was out in the field (don't know proper name), you had a pony there. Were they playing or is that Manzer pushing it or trying to see how far he can go?
