Dry firewood does not equal kiln dried firewood! Air dried firewood will burn vigorously with plenty of heat providing its at the right level of moisture, generally accepted as 20% or less humidity. Drying in kilns requires energy to power the kiln so is hardly the most environmentally friendly way to dry firewood. If you have space, stack it up, get some airflow round it, store it for at least one year through the summer and then get a moisture meter for £20 and check the moisture level yourself. It's not difficult and avoids paying a fortune for kiln dried wood that has a "ready to burn" sticker on the bag!
